Nigel Spencer runs Manchester-based independent label Folk Police Recordings. As a folk music enthusiast with a singing voice of limited appeal and no discernible talent as a musician, he decided he would be better off enthusing about other people's talents via running the labe and writing. He used to write the occasional article for the now defunct websites The Unbroken Circle and Woven Wheat Whispers. He is also the author of Slattery's Luck, an unpublished novel... and one day might even get round to finishing another.
